Tuesday 3/16/11 - photos downloaded from previous days

Hilltop Cafe where we had a great dinner Sunday night, and which was one of our stops along the bike route on day 1.

The Blue Cottage - home, sweet home for 9 days.

Jim and Cam assembling the tandem.

Jim checks the diagram for frame assembly.  The frame was straight from the Co-Motion factory, still wrapped and packeaged, and the entire bike required piece-by-piece assembly of every single part.  Jim is an amazing mechanic and was able to complete this undertaking in under 2 hours.

Karen's college room mate, Jeri, her husband, David at their home in Kerrville. They treated us to a wonderful Italian dinner.

Mr. Gish spent his entire life collecting memorabilia of the old west, some authentic, and some from various western movies.  When he retired, he built a beautiful home in Fredericksburg, then built a museum to house his collection which he exhibits free to the public.  There are no posted hours.  You just call Mr. Gish on the phone, then he walks from his house to his museum next door and gives a personal tour.  This visit with Mr. Gish was definitely one of the highlights of our week.

A typical Hill Country ranch/farm as seen mile after mile on our rides.

One of the features at the Pioneer Museum was the making (and sampling) of Dutch oven bisquits, made by the gentleman in this photo.  He got Kelley involved in mixing the batter.

Everyone squints into the sun before beginning our huge feast with Caroline.
